The Umbrella Academy star lands the next leading role in a new horror movie


The Umbrella Academy star Marin Ireland has landed her next role, with the actress set to star in a horror film Birth/Rebirth.

As reported by Deadlinethe actress has joined the main cast of the film, which is produced by streaming service Shudder.

Birth/Rebirththe feature debut of writer-director Laura Moss, is inspired by Mary Shelley Frankensteinthe story apparently incorporating many themes from the novel.

Ireland will play a morgue technician who forms a relationship with a mother (Judy Reyes) and child (AJ Lister). Alongside Ireland and Reyes, Breeda Wool and Monique Gabriela Curnen will star.

Moss, who is co-writing the screenplay with Brendan J O’Brien, said of the project: “I’m thrilled to be working with Shudder to finally bring this project to life. It’s been in the works for a long time and I’m so proud of the cast and crew we’ve assembled to make this happen.”

The show, which stars Elliot Page, Tom Hopper and Justin H Min, was recently renewed for a fourth and final season. The third season saw the family navigate an alternate timeline, with all 10 episodes airing in June.

A post-credits scene, which aired after the season finale, hinted at what the family will do in their final adventure.

Birth/Rebirth will be released on Shudder in 2023. The Umbrella Academy seasons 1-3 are now streaming on Netflix.
