Memories of Mel and the making of Braveheart as an epic film is screened at Trim Castle

James Robinson (Young William Wallace), Mhairi Calvey (Young Murron) and Peter Hanly (Prince Edward) were among the special guests at the Braveheart screening at Trim Castle.

More than 500 people turned out to see Trim’s Hollywood blockbuster ‘Braveheart’ on the big screen last night – with the film’s key location – as the backdrop.

With Covid sabotaging the original plans for the 25th anniversary screening, it finally took place two years later, but with no less enthusiasm.

Earlier today there was great entertainment around the castle with music and a signature tent where actors from the film including James Robinson (Young William Wallace), Mhairi Calvey (Young Murron) and Peter Hanly (Prince Edward) and Angus Macfadyen (Robert the Bruce) were on hand to sign autographs and pose for photos.
