The first and most famous online food competition in the 2020 pandemic year is back to excite the local food scene.

The “East Meets West” cooking competition, organized by Bord Bia, the Irish Food Board, started on September 1st.

This culinary competition aims to raise awareness in the Philippine market about the high quality as well as the unique taste and versatility of European pork and beef.

The “East Meets West” Food Competition is open to professional chefs, cooking students, food bloggers / influencers and home cooks. Entrants must submit recipes that meet high quality dining standards inspired by Filipino fusion cuisine.

A group of world-renowned chefs, along with representatives from Bord Bia, will review all applications by the end of September. The 10 shortlisted semi-finalists will receive a kitchen kit to create and submit a three-minute video of their dishes, using both European pork and Irish beef, then the top five finalists will showcase their class-leading Filipino culinary skills. global. The final selection of their winning recipes will be made at a final culinary event scheduled for late November.

Bord Bia, the Irish Food Board, presents exciting prizes to the five winners. The prize pool includes P325,000.00 in prize vouchers, a cooking class with renowned chefs Philip John Golding and Mark Hagan from Dublin, a luxury hotel stay with Irish breakfast and a high quality chef’s kit.
