UNDATED (AP) – National runner-up North Carolina will play Indiana in the ACC/Big Ten Challenge on Nov. 30. North Carolina is a strong contender for the top spot in the preseason polls with four returning starters. The two conferences announced the 14 matchups for the 24th edition of the three-day event. The ACC leads 12-8 with three ties. The Big Ten won 8-6 last season for their third straight win. The ACC has a 144-121 advantage in all games since Genesis in 1999. The other headliner for Nov. 30 was Ohio State against Duke.

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (AP) — Link Jarrett is Florida State’s new baseball head coach. The school announced his hire three days after ending his three-year run as Notre Dame coach in the College World Series. Jarrett was named the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association’s National Coach of the Year after leading the Irish to a 41-win season and their first CWS appearance in 20 years. The move was anticipated. Jarrett is a Tallahassee native, an FSU graduate and a two-time All-America shortstop for the Seminoles. It will be presented at a press conference on Monday. He replaces Mike Martin Jr., who was fired two weeks ago.
