Green beer, Irish music fun


Keep an eye out for rainbows and elves, and step out in green clothes, St. Patrick’s Day is just around the corner. Local businesses have Irish celebrations planned for adults and children.

• St. Patrick’s Day, 6 p.m. to midnight March 13 at 1803 Brewery & Taproom, 123 Harding Way East, Galion. Includes a large green sour apple drink made with Iron Vault Distillery vodka, green beer and more. The Crazy Gringos will perform from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m.

• Pixie felting class, 1 pm to 4 pm March 14 at Alpaca Meadows, 1200 Rock Road, Mansfield. No previous experience necessary. The cost of the class includes all materials and the use of tools needed for the project. To register, visit

• Feast of St. Patty’s with the Red Ball Jets, March 14 at 10 p.m. at Dillinger’s Entertainment Center & restaurant, 144 Washington Square, Bucyrus.

• St. Patrick’s Day Celebration, 11 am to 11 pm March 17 at the Phoenix Brewing Company, 131 N. Diamond St., Mansfield. The Truckin Trav food truck will have a special Irish menu. Dagda’s Harp will offer live music at 8 p.m. Offers green beer, Irish cocktails and more.

• St. Patrick’s Day, 5 pm to 10 pm March 17 at the Vault Wine Bar, 29 W. Main St., Shelby. Offers Irish food and drink specials. Clurichaun Celtic Clan will perform Irish music at 6 p.m.

• St. Patty’s Day, 6 to 10 p.m. March 17 at Happy Grape Wine Bar & Bistro, 300 E. Main St., Lexington. Dry Irish stout, brewed by Ken Dudley of Laxton Hollow Brewing Works, will be offered along with other Irish drinks and dishes. The Bon Piper will perform.

• The St. Patrick’s Day Shenanigans, 7 am to 11 pm March 17 at The Local at 97, 58 Ohio 97, Lexington. Offers green beer and Irish specialties. Live music will be played throughout the day.

For kids

• St. Patrick’s Day, 10:15 am to 11 am March 12 at the Little Buckeye Children’s Museum, 44 W. Fourth St., Mansfield. Those present are encouraged to wear green clothing. This event is free for members, free with admission to the museum, or $ 3 for admission only for the holidays. Children will play games, make crafts and eat snacks.

• St. Patrick’s Day, 11 am to 5 pm March 14 at Richland Carrousel, 75 N. Main St., Mansfield. Those wearing green will get a free ride on the carousel. The party includes a craft table, green popcorn, green dessert, and more.

• Shamrocks & Leprechauns event at Mansfield / Richland County Public Library branches. This program is for children of all ages and features stories, games and crafts. Wearing green is encouraged. Hours and locations: 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. March 14 at the Lexington branch; 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. March 16 at the Butler branch; March 19 from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Lucas branch; and 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on March 19 at the Madison branch.
